A closed access book about Open Access

I usually begin my day by reading some feeds about work. Today I got one about a book called “Open Access: what you need to know now” by Walt Crawford and published by American Library Association Editions.

The book has 80 pages and it costs $45. $45 for an 80 pages’ book that has a sample that does not say anything new to me is a lot of money. Nevertheless, I had some curiosity about it and searched for an ebook version. Maybe the rest would make it worthwhile.

The book is about Open Access, from the sample we can see the book is pro-Open Access.

The ebook costs $36! And it’s not Open access. Do they really want to sell the book?
